The title of this video installation is after Carlos Fuentes’ book of the same name. The novel is built around the story of a man - who has abandoned his revolutionary ideals to become a powerful financier - but also offers "a kaleidoscopic presentation" of vignettes of Mexico City. To me this novel was the search for clarity and comprehension of his country as a whole with many different parts. “La región más transparente” suggested me the perpetual search for clarity, transparency, truth of our human condition.
